The Quramagebirge ( Uzbekistan Qurama tizmasi ; Russian Кураминский хребет ) is a mountain range of Tien Shan on the border between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan ( Central Asia ). The northern foothills are in Kyrgyzstan .
The Qurama Mountains extend over a length of 170 km in a north-east-south-west direction. It forms the watershed between the Angren River in the northwest and the Syr Darja in the south and southeast. The Fergana Valley is in the southeast . The highest point of the mountain range is the Boboiob with 3769 m .
The mountains consist of mica slate , sandstone and granite . It is also the site of various rare minerals such as kuramite , nekrasovite and stibiocolusite .
Since 2016, the Angren – Pap railway has been crossing the mountains with the Kamchiq tunnel .
