Spaces of today's drawing
Spaces of today's drawing - works from the Basler Kupferstichkabinett was a traveling exhibition of contemporary drawing from the collection of the Kunstmuseum Basel , which was shown in 1985 and 1986 by the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden and the Tel Aviv Museum of Art . It was the second larger survey exhibition of the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden on the genre of drawing based on Drawing Now (1976), which takes place roughly every 10 years, and was continued by Drawing and Space (1994) and in 2004 with Gegen den Strich .
The exhibition was created at the suggestion of Dieter Koepplin , then head of the Kupferstichkabinett at the Kunstmuseum Basel , who also curated it . It showed a representative cross-section of contemporary drawings from one of the most important public collections of drawings in Europe.
A 130-page catalog was published for the exhibition, which, in addition to introductory articles on four to six pages each, presents the 16 artists with a selection of their drawings and short texts by Dieter Koepplin, Paul Tanner and Marie Therese Hurni.
