The Río Bobonaza is a 410 km long left tributary of the Río Pastaza in Ecuador and Peru .

River course

The Río Bobonaza rises at an altitude of about 800  m 10 km east of the city of Puyo in the province of Pastaza . It flows through the Ecuadorian Amazon basin in a south-easterly direction. He has numerous narrow river loops and oxbow lakes . At river kilometer 366 the river passes the municipality of Canelos , at river kilometer 307 the village Pacayacu and at river kilometer 283 the municipality Sarayacu . The Río Bobonaza briefly crosses the border to Peru shortly before its mouth. After all, it meets the Río Pastaza right at the state border.
