The Río Pimiento (also: Río El Pimiento) is a short river in the lowlands of the South American landlocked state Bolivia .
The Río Pimiento is located in the Bolivian part of Pantanal , one of the largest inland - wetlands of the earth. The river has its origin in the river plains of the Río Paraguay , which extend north of the city of Puerto Suárez to Bolivian territory.
The river has a total length of only 25 to 30 kilometers, with the source region, river course and estuary vary significantly depending on the season and rainfall. The Río Pimiento is the most important tributary of the Laguna Cáceres , which is also fed by the Tutuyú Canal and Sicurí Canal , both of which are directly connected to the Río Paraguay.
