River course

The Río Rircay rises 35 km southwest of Cuenca on the eastern slope of the Cordillera Occidental at an altitude of about 3800  m . It initially flows 25 km in a predominantly southerly direction through the mountains. The E59 trunk road crosses the course of the river at river kilometer 23. Three kilometers downstream, the Río Girón flows into the Río Rircay from the northeast. This now turns to the southwest and finally unites with the Río León coming from the south to the Río Jubones.
