Rózsi Szöllősi

Rózsi Szöllősi (born February 20, 1892 in Királyháza , Kingdom of Hungary , † after 1927 ) was a Hungarian actress and singer .

Life

Szöllősi began her career in 1910 as an actress at Vígszínkör in Budapest . In 1915 she played with Városligeti Színkör and Vígszínház . From 1916 she was a member of the Apolló Kabaré in Budapest for nine years . There she performed as a singer with songs popular at the time such as “ Yvonne ” by Dénes Buday and Imre Harmath and “ Hurrá, fiuk! Ma utóljára ... ”by Károly Lovászy and Károly Kovács and achieved greater awareness. In 1917 and 1918 she worked as an actress in two silent films . This was followed by appearances at Fővárosi Kabaré and Vidám Színpad , an operetta stage in Budapest. In 1925 she made her debut as an opera singer with Városi Színház in the role of Madama Butterfly in the opera of the same name by Giacomo Puccini. In 1926 she moved to Italy and gave guest appearances in Switzerland . Little is known about her further artistic work.

Personal

Szöllősi married the actor and director Ernő Szabolcs in 1911, from whom she divorced in 1927.
