politics

Klos was a founding member of the AfD state association in Baden-Württemberg and was deputy state spokesman for the AfD until March 2017. In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg on March 13, 2016, he entered the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg with 23.0 percent of the first votes as a direct candidate of his party in the Mannheim I constituency (constituency 35) and thus won one of two first mandates for his party in Baden-Wurttemberg. When Jörg Meuthen and 12 other MPs left the AfD parliamentary group in July 2016 after controversial statements by Wolfgang Gedeon , Klos did not follow suit and remained in the old parliamentary group. On July 7, 2016, Klos was elected deputy chairman of the AfD parliamentary group, which was decimated in the course of the dispute over Wolfgang Gedeon . In October 2016, both factions reunited.

At the assembly meeting for the local elections in 2019, Klos received only 8 votes despite the presence of his family with 4 members and thus clearly defeated the district chairman. The district councils of the last 2 years made it clear that they do not support Klos' renewed candidacy for the state parliament.

Afterwards, Klos moved his residence to Tuttlingen and ran against his parliamentary group colleague Doris Senger in the nomination for the state election in 2021 . With the help of four family members entitled to vote, he prevailed in the second ballot.
