Rudiger Robert Beer

Rüdiger Robert Beer (born August 15, 1903 in Lissa ; † July 6, 1985 ) was a German journalist .

Life

Beer attended high schools in Lissa and Oberlahnstein . After graduating from 1926, he worked as a journalist for the Hannoversche Kurier . On December 12, 1933, Beer took over as deputy editor-in-chief of the Kreuzzeitung and on July 21, 1934 its chief editor for around thirteen months . In 1938 he became foreign correspondent for the Frankfurter Zeitung in The Hague and Bern , which appeared for the last time on August 31, 1943. Beer then stayed in Switzerland until the end of the war and edited various reprints of German literary works.

In August 1945 he returned to Germany. As a press officer , Beer actively participated in the re-establishment of the German Association of Cities . At the same time as this he took on responsibility for school and educational issues as an alderman from 1948 to 1966 and, from 1952, also for cultural issues. In 1966, Beer retired.
