Rüdiger Ruppert (born August 17, 1970 in Dahn ) is a German percussionist who is also active in the jazz sector.

Live and act

Ruppert played drums and piano since he was nine years old. He was a prizewinner at Jugend musiziert and completed an instrumental course at the Karlsruhe University of Music . In 1993 he was a member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and has been a drummer in the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin since 1994 . He also plays in the Big Band of the Deutsche Oper Berlin under the direction of Rolf von Nordenskjöld , to be heard as a soloist on the album How Long Is Now (Mons, 2010). In 1999 he was appointed chamber musician . As part of the Deutsche Oper, he also works in the Jazz & Breakfast event series with Sebastian Król and Martin Hattenbach. With his trio Triologic consisting of Thomas Andelfinger (guitar) and Christoph Niemann (bass) he recorded the album Dirty Fingers in 2001 , followed by Seasons ( Mons Records , 2010) in a quartet with saxophonist Steffen Weber . With the quintet soloists of the Deutsche Oper Berlin he was involved as a xylophonist on an album with classical works by Joly Braga Santos , Jorge Peixinho , Filipe de Sousa and José Vianna da Motta . He was also a guest lecturer at several youth orchestras and universities. As a composer, he has published works for classical drums and jazz trio.
