Rudiger Schaper

Rüdiger Schaper (* 1959 in Worms ( Rhineland-Palatinate )) is a German author , journalist and theater critic . He lives and works mainly in Berlin and has been with Tagesspiegel since 1999 . He is head of the features section ressorts . Before that he was the Berlin cultural correspondent for the Süddeutsche Zeitung . Schaper is married and has two children.

Works

In Schaper's literary works play essay and cultural history an important role. He presented biographies on Harald Juhnke , Konstantin Simonides , Karl May and Alexander von Humboldt . His book on the history of theater lists those theater makers who, as a critic, meant a lot to him.
