Rügen dinghy
A stable boat for sailing, rowing and motor boating. Here with GENOA as headsail and mainsail, on the trailer.

Rügenjolle was the name of a small open sailing dinghy with a sword and a mainsail and foresail . It is also suitable for rowing or can be powered with an outboard motor. The hull is made of plastic ( GRP ) and its shape is based on a bricked wooden boat. The Rügen dinghy was built in the GDR in Lauterbach on Rügen in two sizes.

The boat is still manufactured as a so-called "Kombiboot Rügen" by the shipyard "Wieker Boote GmbH" on Rügen. Since the beginning of the millennium, the same shipyard has also built a sailing boat with the name “Kajüt-Rügenjolle”, but this is a completely different type of boat.

Regatta and races

There is no official yardstick number for the Rügen dinghy, but there are empirical values that are around 125. The Rügen dinghy "special" is listed at the DSV with 120.
