The leading roles are played by Dove Cameron , Katherine McNamara , Braeden Lemasters , Tiffany Espensen and Ryan McCartan . The film was shot for $ 4.4 million in Vancouver , British Columbia .

The film was released on September 29, 2015 as DVD and video-on-demand . The DVD release in Germany was October 15, 2015.

Beth and Kellen are best friends, at the same time Kellen is secretly in love with Beth. Beth meets the handsome Hunter at a dance competition at the Halloween market and falls in love with him. Kellen is not at all enthusiastic about it and does not trust the new one. When the traveling horror show by Dr. Hysteria and his assistant Lillith come to Danville, the horror moves into the city. Together with her friends Kellen, Nicole, Luke and Hunter, Beth also goes to the horror room. The friends are fascinated by the real-looking ghosts, witches, undead and demons until Beth makes a terrible discovery. Just as Kellen is about to confess his love to Beth, Beth is separated from the group and ends up in a back room of the horror show. There she observes a vampire and a zombie and is shocked to find that the two are not actors, but real horror creatures.

When Beth comes out of the horror room, she tells Hunter and Kellen about it. You believe the former, but not Kellen. Disappointed, Beth turns away from him and does her own research. She finds out that the traveling horror show was in another city a year earlier and that Andrea Payton disappeared there afterwards. Beth wants to find out the truth and goes back to the horror room with Hunter. Together they discover a mysterious closet in another back room. When Beth opens the closet and goes inside, she discovers the souls of vanished teenagers who are being held captive. In the meantime, Dr. Hysteria on the hunt for new souls. He finds the right people in Nicole and Luke and hypnotizes them so that they can accompany him to his soul cupboard.

Lillith, who got involved in the machinations of Dr. Hysterias is in the know, approaches Kellen and tries to get him to join the traveling horror show. She shows him that he will never have Beth and that Dr. Hysteria holds a special place for him in his show. Beth wants the show and especially Dr. Hysteria put down the trade. When she confronts him, she realizes that Lillith and Hunter are siblings and that Hunter has been using them all along. Together with Kellen, who has withdrawn from Lillith's hypnosis, they can help Dr. Destroy Hysteria, Lillith and Hunter and the traveling horror show. After the traveling horror show broke up, Nicole and Luke and Andrea transform themselves back into their old personalities. Beth realizes that she loves Kellen and the two kiss.

At the end you see the mysterious soul cupboard standing in the middle of the forest and some souls try to escape from the cupboard.
