RAPS GmbH & Co. KG is a German spice company with an annual turnover of approx. 180 million euros. The family company is based in Kulmbach ( Bavaria ) and processes over 1,700 raw materials from all over the world. With a total of seven production sites in Europe and around 900 employees worldwide , RAPS produces around 35,000 tons of a wide variety of food ingredients and additives per year.

history

The company was founded in Hamburg in 1924 by the pharmacist Adalbert Raps . In 1953 the foundation stone for the Kulmbach plant was laid. After expanding into the international market in the late 1970s, RAPS has developed into a global company that is the preferred supplier for many manufacturers of end products. Today the export share is over 50 percent.

  • INDUSTRY: As a partner to the international food processing industry, RAPS supplies companies from the meat and sausage, fish and delicatessen, ready-to-use and frozen meals, confectionery and snacks, dairy products, bread and baked goods sectors.
  • DELICO: As a partner to the meat trade, delicatessen counters and food retailers , RAPS supports over 22,000 sales outlets. The craft has always been part of the traditional business and is looked after personally and comprehensively.
  • FOODSERVICE: Whether caterers, community catering or gastronomy - the spice expert supplies around 5,000 customers with first-class products and constantly new recipe ideas.

  • Frost-cold grinding (process for preserving raw materials in an inert nitrogen atmosphere, provides more flavor)
  • CoaTec (encapsulation of additives and active ingredients and targeted release of active mechanisms)
  • Flavocaps ( microencapsulated flavors , low in germs, spreadable, storage and flavor stable)
  • Plant Press (1960 RAPS was the first spice plant in the world to extract natural oils)
