history

Initially owned by the church in Neuwerk and later by St. Georg, the island fell to the Giebichenstein office with the Reformation . In 1929 the island became the property of the city of Halle. As early as 1840, the Raven Island was initially used for recreational purposes. The first paths were laid out and an inn was created. The last inn only disappeared in the 1990s. Until the 19th century the island was called "Crow's Wood".

Buildings

The island can be reached via two bridges in the north and east (including the Rabeninselbrücke ). A ferry ran to the Böllberger Ufer until the 1990s . The Böllberger Weir is at the southern tip. The Böllberg lock is on the town side of Rabeninsel at river kilometer 95.8 .
