The Racing River is an approximately 95 km long right tributary of the Toad River in the north of the Canadian province of British Columbia .

The Racing River rises on the northern slope of the 2133  m high Ortona Mountain in the Muskwa Ranges , a mountain range in the north of the Rocky Mountains . From there it flows in a northerly direction through the mountains. Northeast of the village of Toad River (at mile 422 of the Alaska Highway ), the river flows into the Toad River below the Toad River Hot Springs Provincial Park . 12 km before the mouth of the British Columbia Highway 97 ( Alaska Highway ) crosses the Racing River and runs a few kilometers downstream on the right bank, before the highway turns into the valley of the right tributary MacDonald Creek .
