UCI Nations' Cup U23

The UCI Nations' Cup U23 (U23 Nations Cup) is a series of one-day and stage races in road cycling for men U23 organized by the UCI World Cycling Association since 2007 . At the races, points are awarded based on the placements of the drivers, which are included in an overall ranking of the associations.

National teams , in particular, are eligible to start in all races of the U23 Men's Cycling Nations Cup . By July of each year, 26 national teams are to be invited according to the order of the U23 final rankings of the UCI Continental Circuits of the previous year: the first association of the UCI Africa Tour , the first three of the UCI America Tour , the first two of the UCI Asia Tour and UCI Oceania Tour as well as the first 18 of the UCI Europe Tour . For competitions starting in July, the first 15 associations of the current classification of the UCI Nations' Cup U23 are to be invited. Mixed teams, regional and club teams can also be invited.

Overall rating

The overall ranking of the U23 Men's Cycling Nations Cup is based on different points awarded in each individual race based on the overall result. The result of the driver from an association who has achieved the most points in the competition is included in the overall result.

The following point scales apply:

  • One-day races: 20, 17, 15, 13, 11, 10… 1 point for the first 15 drivers
  • Stage races: 30, 25, 20, 17, 16, 15… 1 point for the first 20 drivers in the overall standings plus 3, 2 and 1 points for the first three of each stage

In addition to the actual UCI Nations' Cup U23 competitions, points are awarded according to the following scale at the continental championships, both for the road race and for the individual time trial :

  • Europe: 10, 8, 6, 5… 1 point for the first 8
  • other continents: 8, 5, 3 and 1 points
