List of radio stations

Radio DNR was one of three Luxembourg national and one of four regional radio stations . DNR stands for Den neien Radio ( German  Das neue Radio ). The station produced a pop music-oriented program in AC (Adult Contemporary) format (target group 25 to 50 years old), with traffic news and weather forecasts. On average, Radio DNR was tuned into by around 29,800 listeners every day (6.4% of the population). This made Radio DNR the second most listened to national radio station in Luxembourg. It also ranked second among the regional channels.

On March 28, 2014, the chairman of the board of directors of the operating company (Société de radiodiffusion luxembourgeoise, SRL for short) announced that the station would cease broadcasting on March 31, 2014. The operator had previously tried to set up a joint French broadcaster in a joint venture with RTL Group that would have used the DNR frequencies. However, this project was rejected by the monitoring body, the ALIA (Autorité luxembourgeoise indépendante de l'audiovisuel) at the end of February.

Radio DNR was part of the “ Groupe Saint-Paul ”, Luxembourg's largest media group with the highest-circulation daily newspaper ( Luxemburger Wort ), the highest-circulation weekly newspaper ( Télécran ) and various other print media.

Transmission area

It was broadcast on a nationwide VHF frequency: 107.7 MHz. and two regional FM frequencies: 102.9 MHz and 104.2 MHz. DNR was also received in Luxembourg cable networks and on the Internet live stream.
