Radoslav Židek (born October 15, 1981 in Žilina ) is a former Slovak snowboarder . At the 2006 Winter Olympics , he won the silver medal in snowboard cross . He is the first athlete in Slovakia since the country gained independence (1993) to win a medal at the Winter Olympics. From 2004 to 2010 he took part in 63 world cup races. A fourth place in March 2008 in Valmalenco's snowboard cross was his best result. His best result at the 2005 Snowboard World Championships was 11th in snowboard cross. At the Snowboard World Championships 2007 in Arosa , he finished 17th in snowboard cross.
