A cycle path tunnel is a tunnel that mainly serves as a cycle traffic facility.

meaning

In the course of cycle superhighways or cycle paths (especially cycle paths on disused railway lines ), new tunnels are built or existing tunnels are converted to make them suitable for bicycles in order to be able to offer crossing-free paths for cyclists.

Examples

Examples of cycle tunnels in former railway tunnels are the Milseburg tunnel in the Hessian Rhön or the Schulenberg tunnel in Hattingen . In contrast to this, however, there have never been any tracks in the Tübingen Schlossberg Tunnel since it was built.
