Raed Ramadan Awad Mostafa (born April 5, 1984 in Bonn ) is a German basketball player of Egyptian descent. He was a German junior national player and played in the basketball league for Bonn, Berlin and Cologne.

career

Mostafa played for Telekom Baskets Bonn in his youth , was in the Bundesliga squad in 2000/01 and, thanks to a "double license", was part of the squad of the second division club SG Sechtem. He made his Bundesliga debut in October 2000 at the age of 16 years, six months and three days. In 2001 he moved to Berlin and played for TuS Lichterfelde in the 2nd Bundesliga. "TuSLi" was the support team for Alba Berlin at the time . In October 2002 Mostafa made his debut for Alba in the basketball league and up until 2004 he played a total of four BBL games in the Berlin jersey. In 2003 he won the German championship title and the cup competition with Alba.

He decided to combine studies and basketball training in the USA and moved to the North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) for the 2004/05 season, where he was a top performer especially in his second year (2005/06) and then went to Western Kentucky University . There he received little service time in the 2006/07 season and returned to Europe after three years in the United States.

In the 2007/08 season Mostafa first played for the Icelandic first division club Hamar / Selfoss, in January 2008 he signed with the Danish first division club Horsens IC .

For the 2008/09 season he went back to the Rhineland and received a two-year contract with Bundesliga club Cologne 99ers . He scored as many points in twelve league games for Cologne, his contract was terminated after a year, Mostafa withdrew from the professional field and in the following years strengthened BSG Grevenbroich in the first regional league for several seasons .

National team

Mostafa took part in 2002 with the German U18 national team at the European Championship in their own country and at the Albert Schweitzer tournament in Mannheim. In 2004 he was part of the A2 national team.
