Kuchta, who started for WKS Zakopane , took part in both ski jumping and Nordic combined competitions at the beginning of his career . For example, he made his debut in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup in August 1996 , but was disqualified at the home competition in Zakopane . As part of the 1998 Erzgebirge Springer Tour , he reached 15th place in Oberwiesenthal . In January 1999 he was even called up to the ski jumping World Cup team in Poland, but failed both times at the qualification from the Wielka Krokiew in Zakopane.
Internationally, Kuchta was more successful in Nordic combined. In March 2000 he achieved the points for the first time in the B-World Cup competition in Klingenthal . On December 7th, 2001 he made his debut at the mass start in Zakopane in the Nordic Combined World Cup , but clearly missed the connection to the top of the world.
On the national level, on the other hand, Kuchta was one of the best Polish athletes in Nordic combined, so that, in addition to several medals, he also won the championship title once. In addition, in 1997 and 2001 he won bronze twice with the team at Polish ski jumping championships .
