Raffael Korte (born August 29, 1990 in Speyer ) is a former German soccer player who was most recently under contract with SV Waldhof Mannheim .

Career

In his youth, Korte played for Phönix Schifferstadt. He had his first assignments in the adult sector at TuS Mechtersheim . In 2011 he moved to the second division club Eintracht Braunschweig together with his twin brother Gianluca . Here he had his first appearance in professional football on the 5th matchday of the 2011/12 season at the home game against FC Erzgebirge Aue (1: 1) when he came on for Nico Zimmermann in the 63rd minute . In the 3-1 win over Ingolstadt at the end of the season, Korte scored his first goal as a professional footballer. In the 2012/13 season , he was promoted to the first Bundesliga with unity.

After Korte had extended his contract with Braunschweig until 2015 in January 2013, he switched to the third division 1. FC Saarbrücken for the 2013/14 season on loan . In the Saarland , he was able to collect match practice, but not prevent relegation. Back in Braunschweig, Korte was able to fight for a regular place in the 2nd division as a returnee from the Bundesliga relegated team, but was rarely used after the winter break.

In April 2015 his move to 1. FC Union Berlin was announced, for which he could only book 10 league appearances in two seasons.

The midfielder has played with his twin brother Gianluca at SV Waldhof Mannheim since the 2017/18 season . For the 2019/20 season , Korte rose to the 3rd football league with the Waldhöfern , but missed the start of the season because of an operation on his knee. Because of his knee problems, he had to end his football career in summer 2020.
