Rahman Sidek

Abdul Rahman Sidek (born September 20, 1965 in Banting , Selangor ) is a former Malaysian badminton player . He is one of six Sidek brothers. His siblings Jalani and Razif won bronze in doubles at Olympia in 1992 , the second youngest brother Rashid won a. a. Commonwealth Games . The youngest brother Shahrizan, born in 1987, also started a badminton career. Rahman Sidek, on the other hand, was rarely able to put himself in the front row internationally. The Sideks achieved fame for an extremely cut surcharge they created, which was later banned by the IBF . Abdul Rahman himself had the greatest success of winning the 1990 German Open in men's doubles with Ong Ewe Chye . At the 1989 World Cup , he and Soo Beng Kiang were eliminated in the first round against eventual world champions Li Yongbo and Tian Bingyi . At the Thomas Cup 1992 he was world champion with the Malaysian team, but not used in the final. After his active career, he began a coaching career.
