Ucecai ( Ocekai ) is an East Timorese suco in the Zumalai administrative office ( Cova Lima municipality ).

geography

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Ucecai had an area of ​​19.96 km². Now it is 23.65 km². The Suco forms the northern tip of the Zumalai administrative office. To the south are the Sucos Mape and Zulo , which also belong to Zumalai . To the northwest are the Sucos Carabau and Cota Bo'ot (Office of Administration Bobonaro , community Bobonaro ), northeast Sucos the Mau-Ulo and Mau Nuno (Office of Administration Ainaro , community Ainaro ). The Beleten River crosses the center of the Sucos and then follows part of the border with Mape before flowing into the Mola , the border river with Mau-Nuno. The Fatoro , another tributary of the Molas, has its source in the southwest of Ucecai. There are no larger contiguous settlements in Suco. The huts of the inhabitants are concentrated in the southeast of Ucecais. The nearest road is three miles away through mountainous jungle terrain.

Mount Lolo Ucecai ( Mount Ucecai ) is located in the east of Sucos. It has a height of 1163  m .

In the Suco are the two Aldeias Leudula and Reaçu .

Residents

Only 247 inhabitants live in Suco (2015), 125 of them are men and 122 are women. The population density is 10.4 inhabitants / km². There are 40 households in the Suco. Almost 50% of the population name Bunak as their mother tongue. More than 28% speak Kemak and more than 21% speak Tetum Prasa .

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Carlito Maia was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections won Jeronimo Caldas .
