Tashilin (formerly Beco II ) is an East Timorese place and Suco in the administrative office of Zumalai ( municipality of Cova Lima ). In the Suco is the seat of the administrative office Zumalai.

The place Tashilin ( Tazhilin ) is located at an altitude of 92  m in the center of Sucos. There is a primary school in the village, the Escola Primaria Tashilin .

Tashilin has a population of 2275 (2015), of which 1191 are men and 1084 women. The population density is 38.0 inhabitants / km². There are 422 households in the Suco. Almost 82% of the population name Bunak as their mother tongue. Over 15% speak Tetum Prasa and small minorities Tetum Terik , Dadu'a , Mambai or Kemak .

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Tashilin had an area of ​​59.67 km². Now it is 59.82 km². The Suco is located to the west of the Zumalai administrative office. To the northeast and east are the Sucos Zulo , Lepo , Fatuleto and Raimea , which also belong to Zumalai . The river Mola follows shortly before its confluence with the Timor Sea part of the border between Raimea and Tashilin. To the west of the Loumea river , with its side arms, river islands and changing course, is the Suai administrative office with its Suco Beco ( Beco I ). To the northwest lies the Suco Molop (Office of Administration Bobonaro , community Bobonaro ), south of the Timor Sea.

The southern coastal road, one of the country's most important traffic routes, runs right through the Suco. The villages of Baura Icun ( Baordaikun ), Tashilin, Galitaz ( Galitas ), Holgeda , Karetamute and, a little further away, Obugmil are located on it . To the south is the place Culu Oan ( Culu Uan , Kuluan , Kulu Oan ). There are elementary schools in addition to those in Tashilin, Obugmil and Culu Oan.

The four Aldeias Basana , Baura Icun , Culu Oan and Galitaz ( Tashilin ) are located in Tashilin .

At the village of Culu Oan there is a beach with tourist potential.

history

During the occupation of East Timor by Indonesia , a group of refugees was attacked by the Indonesian army on the Mola River in January 1978 . The few survivors of the massacre withdrew to the west.

The pro-Indonesian militia Mahidi committed various acts of violence in the area of ​​Zumalai during the 1999 independence referendum . On January 25, 1999, militia officers killed four people in Galitaz.

On August 15, 2011, there were clashes between martial arts groups from Tashilin and Galitaz, in which several houses were burned down. A policeman was stabbed to death.

In the elections of 2004/2005 was Alexandre Pereira elected Chefe de Suco and in 2009 re-elected.
