Molop is an East Timorese place and Suco in the administrative office of Bobonaro ( municipality of Bobonaro ).

The place

Molop is located in the center of Sucos, on the south bank of the Pa River . There is a helipad for emergencies and a primary school, the Escola Primaria Molop .

The Suco has 1620 inhabitants (2015), 807 of whom are men and 813 women. The population density is 69.0 inhabitants / km². There are 340 households in the Suco. More than 95% of the residents state Bunak as their mother tongue. A small minority speaks Tetum Prasa .

Before the 2015 regional reform, Molop had an area of ​​23.57 km². Now it is 23.47 km². The Suco is located in the southeast of the Bobonaro administrative office. To the west lies the Suco Leber , north Sibuni and in the northeast lies the Suco Lour . To the east and south is the municipality of Cova Lima with its Sucos Zulo , Tashilin (administrative office Zumalai ), Beco (administrative office Suai ) and Guda (administrative office Lolotoe ). The Lelepo River flows along the border with Leber and Guda until it flows into the Pa River. This crosses the Suco from west to east until it flows into the Loumea in the northeast . The Loumea is the border river to the Lour, Zulo and Tashilin.

Most of the larger towns in Sucos are located on a small road that runs parallel to the south of the Pa. These are from west to east Ihago , Omelai ( Omelat ), Lonlolo ( Lon Lolo , Loulolo ), Molop and Anapal ( Anapol ). The village of Pieguda is located on the south bank near the confluence of the Pa and Lelepo rivers . In addition to those in Molop, there are primary schools in Anapal and Omelai.

In the Suco there are the four Aldeias Anapal , Lonlolo , Molop Taz and Omelai .

politics

In the elections of 2004/2005 was Cerilo de Jesus Amaral elected Chefe de Suco and in 2009 re-elected. In the elections in 2016 won Manuel Moniz de Jesus .
