Maliubu ( Male-Ubu , Male Ubu ) is an East Timorese village and Suco in the Bobonaro Administrative Office ( Bobonaro municipality ).

The place

Maliubu is located in the southeast corner of the Sucos at an altitude of 1462  m above sea level. To the east, the country road leads from Carabau to Atsabe in the north and on to Gleno and finally Tibar on the north coast past the place. There is a medical post, a primary school and a school to prepare for secondary school, the Escola Presecundaria Maliubu .

2216 inhabitants (2015) live in Suco, of which 1067 are men and 1149 women. The population density is 288.8 inhabitants / km². There are 371 households in the Suco. Over 95% of the population name Kemak as their mother tongue. Small minorities speak Tetum Prasa or Bunak .

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Maliubu had an area of ​​5.10 km². Now there are 7.67 km². The Suco is to the north of the Bobonaro administrative office. To the west lies the Suco Soileco , southwest Lourba , south Tebabui and east Colimau . In the north, the Suco borders the municipality of Ermera with its Sucos Atara and Obulo ( Atsabe administrative office ). The northern border is formed by the Marobo , a tributary of the Lóis . The Babalai , which forms the border with Soileco, flows into it.

To the west of Maliubu is the village of Hatu-Udu , while Atu Lara ( Atolara ) is in the center. There is a primary school here.

In the Suco are the five Aldeias Atu Lara , Hatu-Udu , Licaubu , Maliubu and Nunupa .

politics

In the elections of 2004/2005 was José Barros elected Chefe de Suco and in 2009 re-elected. In the elections in 2016 won Luis Dai Talo de Jesus .
