Sibuni is an East Timorese place and Suco in the administrative office of Bobonaro ( Bobonaro municipality ).

The place

Sibuni is located in the south of the Sucos at an altitude of 554  m . There is a helipad for emergencies, a medical aid post and a primary school, the Escola Primaria Sibuni .

1148 inhabitants live in the Suco (2015), 581 of whom are men and 567 women. The population density is 86.9 inhabitants / km². There are 195 households in the Suco. More than 95% of the residents state Bunak as their mother tongue. Small minorities speak Tetum Prasa or Tetum Terik .

Before the regional reform in 2015, Sibuni had an area of ​​13.74 km². Now there are 13.21 km². The Suco is located in the south of the Bobonaro administrative office. In the west lies the Suco Leber , in the north Ai-Assa , in the east Lour and in the south Molop . The Laco and one of its tributaries form the border with Ai-Assa, from its confluence with the Loumea this forms the border between Sibuni and Lour.

The three larger towns of Sucos are in the south. Holmesel ( Holmeser ) in the southeast, Sibuni near the center and Mapeop ( Mapeo ) in the southwest. In addition to Sibuni, Mapeop also has a primary school.

In the Suco are the three Aldeias Holmesel , Mapeop and Sibuni .

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Simão de Jesus was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections won Feliciano Bere Laca Maia and 2016 João Lopes da Cruz .
