Raimonds Šteins (born August 18, 1984 in Rīga , Latvian SSR ) is a Latvian handball player . The Latvian international is 1.96 m tall and weighs 96 kg.
Šteins initially played for the Latvian first division club ASK Riga , with whom he took part in the EHF Cup for five seasons in a row . In 2009, the handball goalkeeper moved to the German second division VfL Edewecht . On October 7, 2010, Šteins had a serious traffic accident while driving to training and was then put into an artificial coma for three days . In 2011 he returned to the goal of Edewecht. In the summer of 2011, Šteins joined the third division club HSC 2000 Coburg . After his contract with the Coburg team was terminated in January 2013, he went to HC Aschersleben .
