The Rainbow Glacier (Eng. "Rainbow Glacier") is located on the northeast slopes of Mount Baker in the North Cascades in Washington State . The Rainbow Glacier flows to about 4,500 ft (1,372 m) altitude north of the Lava Divide. In the middle of its course it is connected to the Park Glacier in the south and the Mazama Glacier in the west. Between 1850 and 1950, Rainbow Glacier receded approximately 4,494 ft (1,370 m). During a cooler and wetter period from 1950 ... 1979 it gained about 1,679 ft (512 m) in length, but between 1980 and 2006 lost another 1,345 ft (410 m).
