Rainbow is an amusement ride that was operated by HUSS Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co.KG. from 1982 to 2000. (now Huss Rides ) from Bremen has been realized in both a stationary and a transportable version.
construction
The central building base frame carries the tower, at the end of which a rotating body with two arms is attached. Counterweights and passenger carriers are mounted at the ends of these booms. The nacelle is always kept horizontal by the parallel guidance in the boom. The entire system is driven hydraulically. The alignment of the central construction wagon, the passenger ship transport wagon and the erection of the tower in the travel version are also carried out hydraulically. Due to a HUSS requirement in 2000, all Rainbow rides had to be retrofitted with additional safety belts.
Another similar amusement ride is the "magic carpet".
Driving style
Based on the principle of the “1001 Nights” ride from Weber and “Ali Baba” from ARM and based on the “Ranger” ride , which is also operated by HUSS Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co.KG. Developed and built in the early 1980s, the Rainbow ride features a gondola that can accommodate up to 36 people in three rows of seats. The gaze position of the passengers is directed forward. Since the gondola is always kept horizontal during the entire ride, compared to the “Ranger” ride, an overhead ride with the Rainbow is not possible.
