Rainer Giesel

Rainer B. Giesel (born August 11, 1942 in Potsdam ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Gieselmann put 1962 the Abitur and then studied at the Free University of Berlin economy . In 1970 he completed his studies with a degree in economics . He worked as a freelancer at various institutions of political education , later also there as a lecturer, teacher and lecturer.

Giesel joined the CDU in 1965 while studying. When elected to the Berlin House of Representatives in 1975 he was elected a member of the Berlin House of Representatives. In the next election in 1979 he was initially not elected, but since Richard von Weizsäcker left the Berlin parliament as a member of the Bundestag in December 1979, Giesel was able to move up. All in all, apart from a few months, he served in Parliament for almost 20 years until he resigned in 1995.

Giesel has been active in various European organizations since his student days, including the Europa-Union Deutschland . Since 1987 he has been honorary chairman of the Europa-Union Berlin .
