Rainer Hajek

Rainer Hajek (* 25. January 1945 in Wilhelmshaven ) is a German politician of the CDU and was from 2016 to 2017 Member of the German Bundestag .

Life and work

After attending primary school, Hajek completed an apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade clerk. In 1964 he signed up for two years as a contract soldier in the German Armed Forces . After completing basic military service at Leegerplats Budel , various courses followed up to 1966, as well as work with the telecommunications regiment in Aurich and the SOC . He then worked as a commercial clerk and from 1981 he was also an authorized representative . In addition to his professional activity, from 1972 he attended the business seminar "Practical Business Economist", which he successfully completed in 1973 in Oldenburg . In 2009 he retired.

From 2009 to 2016 he acted as chairman of the VdK local association Bockhorn .

Rainer Hajek is married and has three children.

Hajek joined the CDU in May 1996 and was later elected to the state board of the CDU Oldenburg and the state board of the CDU in Lower Saxony . He is also involved in the senior citizens' union . At the beginning of 2007 he was elected chairman of the Seniors 'Union Friesland and in September 2010 he was elected chairman of the CDU Seniors' Union in Lower Saxony. He is also a member of the federal executive committee of the Seniors Union.

Hajek was a member of the German Bundestag from November 1, 2016, when he replaced the retired MP Heiko Schmelzle on the CDU state list . In Parliament he was a full member of the Committee on Health and an alternate member of the Committee on European Union Affairs .
