Rainer Heilmann (born January 14, 1964 in Zweibrücken , † March 2, 2015 ) was a German football player .
Career
Heilmann began his career at SV Ixheim and later moved to FK Pirmasens . In the meantime he played for 1. FC Saarbrücken, but as a 19-year-old was unable to assert himself as a regular player. His first and only professional station was the SSV Ulm 1846 in the second division season 1987/88 . He made his debut on July 20, 1987 against Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin (2-4), the first matchday of the season. After the season ended with the descent of Ulm, he moved to the Oberliga Südwest to Wormatia Worms . From 1990 he still played for lower-class clubs such as SV Hermeskeil and Palatia Contwig. After stints at TuS Eschringen and SC Halberg Brebach, he took on the role of U-19 coach at FV 09 Bischmisheim in 2008 and led the A-Juniors to the top division in Saarland in just two years (A-Jugend-Verbandsliga Saarland). In 2012 Heilmann took over the coaching position of the first team of FV 09 Bischmisheim in the Association League South-West. Despite numerous departures before the season, the team stayed in the race until the penultimate matchday and ultimately rose with 32 points from 30 games, the twelfth of sixteen teams. In the following season, the team reached third place in the Landesliga Süd and thus just missed promotion.
Heilmann fell seriously ill in 2014. His last game on the sideline was on November 29, 2014 against SV Walpershofen. Heilmann died on March 2, 2015 at the age of 51. He was married and had a son.
