Rainer cap

Rainer-Michaelkap (born August 11, 1943 in Rheinsberg ) is a German lawyer , artist and publisher . He is the son of the artist Eva-Maria cap and grandson of the artist Johanna Helene Charlotte Schröder, called Hannes Petersen . Cap illustrated several books and published caricatures in various magazines, mostly with thematic reference to librarianship and museum research .

Life

Rainerkap was born in Rheinsberg in 1943 and later attended high school in Hamburg . He studied in Freiburg and at the Free University of Berlin , and then worked at the German Library Institute and later at the Jewish Museum Berlin . Influenced by his mother, grandmother and their second husband, the sculptor and Rome prize winner Nicolaus Wendelin Schmidt , cap also began to work artistically with it when he was still at school. From the 1970s he participated in several exhibitions in Berlin . As a lawyer doing his legal traineeship (early 1970s) ,kap discovered that there were also trainers among lawyers who were unsustainable as trainers due to their Nazi past. Since January 2000 he has been involved in setting up the Jewish Museum Berlin and was a member of various committees, including the working group for the memorials in Berlin and Brandenburg.

Rainerkap is widowed, has three children and lives in Berlin.

Trivia

The New Zealand author Nigel Cox describes the early days of the Jewish Museum Berlin in his novel Responsibility . Rainerkap offered him the template for the fictional character of Prof. Dr. Uwe cap.
