Rainer Pietzner

Rainer Pietzner (born January 13, 1943 in Berlin ) is a German lawyer and former judge at the Federal Administrative Court .

Life

Pietzner studied at the Free University of Berlin law until graduation 1966. 1969 he was at the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer research assistant at Roman Herzog . He continued this activity after passing the Second State Exam in Law in 1971. November 1973 he did his doctorate on parliamentary law at the University of Hamburg . In March 1974 he was appointed assistant professor for public law and worked in this capacity at the University of Administrative Sciences. From 1978 he was a senior government councilor at the research institute for public administration at the university in Speyer.

In 1980 Pietzner was appointed judge at the Bavarian Administrative Court, but initially only seconded there . In 1982 he became a final judge at the Administrative Court. In February 1988 he became a judge at the Federal Administrative Court. There he was initially a member of the 5th Senate, which was responsible for social welfare and training aid law, severely handicapped law, maternity and youth protection law, and housing law. Since August 2002 he has been the presiding judge in the 1st and 2nd Military Service Senate of the Federal Administrative Court . At the end of July 2006, he retired as a judge.

Pietzner was appointed honorary professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin in 2000. He researched and published on administrative law . Together with Friedrich Schoch and Eberhard Schmidt-Aßmann, he published a commentary on the administrative court rules and, together with Michael Ronellenfitsch, wrote the textbook The Assessorexamen in Public Law .
