Rainer Schaller
Rainer Schaller (born January 4, 1969 in Bamberg ) is a German entrepreneur . He is the founder and managing director of the RSG Group , which includes the McFit brand fitness studios .
Life
Rainer Schaller comes from a merchant family and grew up in Schlüsselfeld . He completed an apprenticeship as a retailer and owned four Edeka branches. Of these, he only operates the head office in Schlüsselfeld. He had the idea of applying the discount store principle in the fitness business. Until then, the studios were equipped with an expensive wellness area. In 1996 he founded McFit GmbH. He opened the first fitness studio in 1997 in Würzburg .
In 2006 Rainer Schaller took over the management of Lopavent , which until 2010 organized the Loveparade as the successor to Planetcom . In 2010 he hit the headlines as the organizer and sponsor of the Love Parade because of the accident at the Love Parade 2010 in Duisburg, with 21 dead and at least 652 injured .
Rainer Schaller is the younger brother of the conductor Gerd Schaller .
