Rainer Torres Salas (born January 12, 1980 in Callao ) is a Peruvian soccer coach and former soccer player of German descent who played for Universitario de Deportes in the Peruvian Primera División Peruana for a total of seven years .

Career

In 1993 the MSV Duisburg signed Torres from the youth of the Sport Boys . After going through all youth departments for six years, he made the leap to the MSV professional squad for the 2000/01 season. However, he made his professional debut on matchday 21, when he came on as a substitute for three-time goalscorer Marius Ebbers in the 85th minute of the 4-0 home win against Alemannia Aachen . From then on he came to another four missions, where he was on the starting grid for one. Since he was no longer used in the next season, he moved to DSV Leoben in Austria during the winter break . After a year in Styria, he returned to Peru to Universitario de Deportes . Since he could not assert himself in the first season and only played seven games, he moved to Sporting Cristal in 2004 , where he became a national player after just one year. In 2008 he returned to the Peruvian record champions, for whom Torres was active until 2014. During this time he was able to win the championship with his team in 2009 and 2013. In early 2015, he joined league competitor FBC Melgar , where he won his fourth title. He then moved to the Sport Boys from his hometown of Callao , who played in the Peruvian Segunda División . After seven missions, he ended his career and became the team's coach. He gave up this post after the end of the 2016 season. In spring 2017 he was an interim trainer at Sport Rosario for a few weeks .
