Rainer Witt

Rainer Witt (born November 8, 1943 in Darmstadt ; † October 15, 2014 ) was a German journalist , radio reporter , television presenter , writer , cabaret artist and gallery owner .

Life

After a traineeship at Darmstädter Echo , Rainer Witt worked for the Hessischer Rundfunk for 40 years .

For the ARD he completed assignments abroad in Algeria , Namibia , Romania , South Africa and in Chernobyl .

As a radio presenter at HR 1, he presented the program “Unterwegs in Hessen”. After the end of this series, Rainer Witt gave guest appearances on the radio program HR 4. In addition, Rainer Witt was the presenter of the TV series "Landgasthöfe in Hessen".

Others

Rainer Witt was the founder of a gallery on Landwehrstrasse in Darmstadt. He wrote for the satirical magazine pardon me . Witt was co-founder of the cabaret "Heimleuchter" and member of the board of the artists' association Keller-Klub in Darmstadt.

Private

Rainer Witt last lived in Weiterstadt . He was buried in the forest cemetery in Darmstadt (grave site: L 13 A 53 A).
