Radivoje Lekić , Rajko Lekić for short (born July 3, 1981 in Ballerup , Denmark ) is a Danish football player who also has Montenegrin nationality.
Birth and childhood
Lekic was born in Ballerup in 1981 as the son of Montenegrin immigrants from the former Yugoslavia . He also grew up in the Copenhagen area.
Career
Rajko Lekic started his career at B.93 Copenhagen . Lekic landed at Silkeborg IF in the winter of 2003 through Boldklubben Avarta, Herfølge BK and Fremad Amager . There he scored a total of 37 goals in his 35 games in a year and a half. From 2004 to 2006 he played for the Spanish second division club Deportivo Xerez . There he could not prevail and only came to nine missions. After this unsuccessful guest appearance, he returned to his Danish homeland and from then on played for Odense BK . But things didn't go smoothly for him there either and so he was loaned out to Hungary for half a year during the winter. At first division club Zalaegerszegi TE FC , he came to 23 games and six goals. In summer 2007 he moved to Esbjerg fB . There he had six goals in 23 games. In 2008 he returned to Silkeborg IF on loan . There he found his strength back and scored 14 goals in 17 games in the first half of the season. Silkeborg then withdrew the option to buy.
In the summer of 2010, Lekic moved abroad again and went to the Turkish first division club Konyaspor . But only a short time later Lekic returned to Silkeborg IF, as the Turks could not transfer Lekic's salary. In mid-2011 he went abroad again; this time he turned his back on Europe and went to North America to sign with the US league Major League Soccer. A short time later he was accepted by the New England Revolution club. At the beginning of 2012 he went back to Europe and was again active in his Danish homeland; Lekic signed with Lyngby BK.
National team
After good performances in Silkeborg, Rajko Lekic was nominated by national coach Morten Olsen for the league national team's trip to Asia (a team that consists exclusively of players from the Danish league and whose games are not counted as official internationals). He played in all three games and scored one goal each in the games against Singapore and Thailand .
Lekic played his first real A international match on March 3, 2010 in Vienna in a 2-1 defeat against Austria . He was substituted on for Nicklas Bendtner in the 61st minute .
