Raju Eknath Gaikwad (born September 25, 1990 in Mumbai ) is an Indian soccer player .

Career

society

After Gaikwad was trained at the Tata FA , he moved to the Pailan Arrows in 2010 . There he made his debut on December 3, 2010 against Prayag United , which was also the first game of the Pailan Arrows ever in the I-League ; Pailan lost the game 2-1. In July 2011, Gaikwad signed with Kingfisher East Bengal and only made his debut in February 2012 because he had to sideline due to an injury. In 2014 he then moved to Mumbai City FC .

National team

Gaikwad made his debut for the Indian U-23s on February 23, 2011 against Myanmar's U-23s in a qualifier for the 2012 Olympics, which India won 2-1. He made his debut for India's first selection on March 21, 2011 against Taiwan in qualifying for the AFC Challenge Cup 2012 , which India won 3-0. He won the 2011 South Asian Cup with India on December 11, 2011 after beating Afghanistan , then led India as captain to win the Nehru Cup after beating Cameroon's B team on September 2, 2012.
