Ralf Bornkessel (born April 17, 1958 in Weimar ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the 4th Thuringian state parliament from 2008 to 2009 .

Life

After graduating from the Polytechnic High School in Gera, Bornkessel completed vocational training as a construction worker with Abitur at SDAG Wismut in Gera from 1974 to 1977 . He did his military service from 1977 to 1980 and then worked as a surveyor at SDAG Wismut in Ronneburg . From 1984 to 1987 he studied at the engineering school for geodesy and cartography in Dresden. He then worked as a surveying engineer at SDAG Wismut Ronneburg and as a clerk for surveying in the Thuringian road construction authority in Gera.

Since September 1990 he has been working as a freelance surveying engineer in Gera. He has been a publicly appointed surveying engineer (ÖbVI) since 1995 and has been working as a surveying office for the Free State of Thuringia under the Thuringian Surveying and Geoinformation Act (ThürVermGeoG).

Bornkessel has been a member of the medium-sized and business association of the CDU / CSU (MIT), regional association of Thuringia , since 1995 . Since 1996 he has been a district board member, since 1998 district chairman of MIT Gera and 2008–2009 acting state chairman of MIT Thuringia.

Bornkessel is divorced and has two children.

Political career

Since 1995 he has been a member of Germany's CDU in the Gera district association. In addition, Ralf Bornkessel has been a member of the regional economic committee of the CDU Thuringia since 1996 and chairman of the regional economic committee of the CDU Gera since 1997.

From 2000 to 2005 and since 2007 he has been a member of the district executive committee of the CDU Gera and from 2002 to 2005 and 2007 to the present day deputy district chairman of the CDU Gera.

In May 2008 he became a member of the Thuringian state parliament and is there a. a. active in the education committee. He took over the successor mandate from Andreas Trautvetter , who left the Thuringian state parliament in May 2008. For the state election in 2009 he ran for a direct mandate in the Gera II constituency , which was won again by Dieter Hausold (Die Linke). Since he was not re-elected on the CDU's state list (35th place), he left the state parliament.

In addition, Bornkessel has been a city councilor in Gera since 1998, and for the citizens of Gera since 2013 . He sits on the supervisory board of Stadtwerke Gera AG and on the association council of the water / wastewater association in the Middle Elstertal and was chairman of the “Committee for urban enterprises, economy and jobs” of the city of Gera from 2002 to 2009.
