Ralf Broß (* 1966 in Rottweil ) is an independent local politician from Baden-Württemberg and has been Lord Mayor of his hometown Rottweil since July 2, 2009 .

biography

Broß grew up in Rottweil and received his Abitur in 1986 at the Rottweiler Leibniz Gymnasium. He then studied administrative science at the University of Konstanz and business administration at the Württemberg Administration and Business Academy in Stuttgart. From 1992 to 1998 he worked at the Ludwigsburg district office for the infrastructure division. From 1998 to 2002 he was the head of the building administration office of the city of Konstanz . From 2002 to 2009 he was managing director of the Regional Economic Development Corporation Bruchsal GmbH. In this function, he was a member of the working group of business development agencies in the Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion, member of the board of trustees of Cyberforum Karlsruhe eV and cooperation partner of bwi Baden-Württemberg International.

On April 5, 2009 he was elected Lord Mayor of Rottweil in the first ballot with a turnout of 50.9 percent with a total of 58.6 percent, replacing Thomas Engeser after his first term in office. In the election campaign he was supported by the CDU and SPD ; with two exceptions, all of the town council members voted for Broß as the new mayor.

On May 7, 2017, Broß was confirmed in office for a further eight years with a total of 96.3 percent. He ran unopposed.

Broß is married to Friederike Broß. The couple have a son and a daughter.

Two referendums took place during his tenure as Lord Mayor. In September 2015 there was a referendum initiated by a referendum on the question of whether the new Rottweil correctional facility should be built on the Gewann Esch. With a turnout of 48.5 percent, 58.4 percent voted in favor of the new building. The city of Rottweil received the democracy rose from the Baden-Württemberg regional association Mehr Demokratie for its exemplary citizens' dialogue.

In March 2017 there was a referendum initiated by the municipal council. It was about the question of whether an approx.
