Ralf D Körper (born January 11, 1960 in Düsseldorf ) is a German electronic musician who first appeared as part of the Düsseldorf punk movement .

Live and act

He had his first release with the avant-garde band SYPH , followed by the experimental single "Eraserhead / Assault" on the local label Rondo, a homage to the films and soundtracks by David Lynch and John Carpenter .

Body received a high international response after the British DJ John Peel played this record on the BBC. The hits like Dr. Mabuse , Duel , P-Machinery and the album A Secret Wish (1985) were recognized for their sales figures in several countries.

A legal dispute with the record company ZTT as well as internal band changes lead to an involuntary almost three year creative break, while the body tried his hand at writing for other artists. While working on the propaganda album “1-2-3-4” (1989), he pursued various side projects. Together with Andreas Thein he published the acid club track “Dr. Acid & Mr. House ". The Krupps-Nitzer-Ebb cooperation "Machineries of Joy" produced by him led to the revival of the Krupps. He also published a cover version of the Kraftwerk classic "Ruckzuck". On this version, published under the name Technocrat , D Körper also brought together remixers from the “ Intelligent Techno ” environment of the British label Warp Records , such as Richard H. Kirk from Cabaret Voltaire and Sweet Exorcist .

Between 1989 and 1997, D Körper returned to the Die Krupps project together with Jürgen Engler . During this time five new albums were released and the band played more than 200 concerts across Europe and North America. Since 2004 and 2005 he also took part in various Krupps and Propaganda reunion concerts. In 2006 the Krupps celebrated their 25th anniversary with a tour and various appearances at European festivals. The Krupps celebrated the 30th stage anniversary in 2011 with a DoubleHeadliner Tour together with Nitzer Ebb.
