Ralf Kalich
Ralf Kalich (born April 10, 1961 in Lobenstein ) is a German politician ( SED , PDS , Die Linke ). He was from 2005 to 2009 and has been a member of the Thuringian State Parliament again since July 2012 .
Life
After completing the 10th grade, Kalich completed an apprenticeship as an electrician from 1977 to 1979. He then attended the officers' college of the border troops of the GDR in Plauen from 1979 to 1982 and then served as a career officer in the border troops until 1990. In 1986 he was transferred from the border “because of political problems”. After German reunification, Kalich worked as a security guard from 1992 to 2002 and from 2004 to 2005.
politics
In 1994 Kalich, who had been a member of the SED since 1979, was elected to the Blankenstein municipal council, of which he was a member until 2004. From 2004 to 2010 he was 1st alderman of the Blankenstein community. In 2010 he was elected mayor in Blankenstein. Since 2003 he has been a member of the Saale-Orla district council . In 2001 he became deputy district chairman of his party and in 2003 a member of the state executive committee. As a replacement for Kersten Naumann , he moved into the Thuringian state parliament on October 20, 2005, but failed to re-enter parliament in the state elections in 2009, both as a direct candidate in the Saale-Orla district I and as a list applicant (26th place). Since July 1, 2012 he has been a member of the state parliament again. He takes on one of the mandates that had become vacant through the election success of left-wing politicians in the local elections in Thuringia in 2012 . In the state parliament, Kalich is the spokesman for local finances for the parliamentary group Die Linke as well as a member of the interior and budget and finance committees.
Memberships
Kalich is vice-president of the regional sports association and is involved in various sports and hiking clubs. He is also the chairman of the Federal Association of Left Local Political Forums (VLKF).
