Ralf Lempke (born May 3, 1956 in Cottbus ) is a former German soccer player in attacking midfield . He played for BSG Energie Cottbus in the GDR league .

Career

Lempke went through the youth departments at BSG Energie Cottbus up to the first team. There he made his debut in the league on the 12th match day of the 1975/76 season when he was in the starting line-up in the 2-0 defeat against 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig on December 13, 1975. During this season, Lempke was used five more times. After relegation to the second-rate GDR league, he completed ten games for Cottbus, in which he scored three goals. In the following four seasons he was used frequently and scored a total of ten goals. After promotion to the league in 1981, Lempke replaced Peter Zierau as team captain, who was not eligible to play in the league because of his western relatives. 1981/82 Lempke completed 25 of 26 games and also scored three goals. He scored his premier goal on the 14th matchday when he met on February 20, 1982 in the 12th minute for a 0-2 lead against Rot-Weiß Erfurt ; the game ended 2-2. After the direct relegation, he continued to show consistently good performances. After four years in the GDR league with 111 games and 17 goals, BSG Energie Cottbus returned to the league again. There Lempke completed all 26 games in which he scored a goal. In his last season he was still used in 31 GDR league games in the GDR league, but was often substituted in or out. Between 1990 and 1993 he joined Schmogrower SV as a player-coach .

After his professional career at BSG Energie Cottbus, he worked in several positions in the club (marketing manager, sports director, team manager). He is currently the Head of Marketing.
