Ralf Roman Rossberg

Ralf Roman Rossberg (born July 2, 1934 in Dresden ; † November 18, 2017 in Murnau am Staffelsee ) was a German journalist and author who wrote on railroad topics in particular .

After spending his childhood in Dresden, the city of his birth, he and his family fled to Bavaria at the end of the Second World War. From 1949 he worked as a journalist for various newspapers, later he studied electrical engineering in Munich and Berlin. In 1961 he went to the Deutsche Bundesbahn and worked for their press service for less than four decades. At the same time he continued to write articles for various magazines and a large number of books about the railroad, including for the railroad courier .

Great attention was paid to a. first published in 1980, the book Frontier over German Rails , which documented the effects of the division of Germany on the German railway system. Also important is his book History of the Railway , the first edition of which appeared in 1978 and was later published in several new editions.
