Ralf Sotscheck (* 1954 in Berlin-Lankwitz ) is a German - Irish journalist and author.

Life

Sotscheck, who is married to an Irish woman, has a degree in business education from the Free University of Berlin . Since 1985 he has been the foreign correspondent for Ireland and the United Kingdom of the Berlin taz . He has also published a Monday column there since 1991 . He has also been a regular contributor to the Ireland Journal since 1990 . The journalist lives on Ireland's west coast, in the village of Fanore , County Clare . Sotscheck has exchanged German for Irish citizenship .

In the comic strip Touché by Thomas Körner (TOM), which also appears in the taz , the character Ralf, who always tries in vain to quit smoking, was inspired by his acquaintance with Ralf Sotscheck.

Sotscheck is a member of the PEN Center Germany .
