Ireland Journal

The Irland Journal (own spelling: irland journal ) has been a German-language quarterly magazine about Ireland that has been published since 1990, making it the first German magazine to report regularly on the politics, culture, economy and history of Ireland. From 1999 to the end of 2002 six issues appeared annually. The independent magazine is published by Christian-Ludwig-Verlag, based in Moers, North Rhine-Westphalia .

The Ireland Journal is published today with a printed circulation of 6,000 copies and is available by subscription.

Its coverage is focused on the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland . The authors of the German-language news, reports and photos include Ralf Sotscheck , Paul and Sylvia Botheroyd , Dietrich Schulze-Marmeling , Hermann Rasche as well as Eva Bourke and Eoin Bourke .

Texts and contributions by the poets and writers Heinrich Böll , Maeve Binchy , Eugene McCabe and Seamus Heaney have also appeared in the Ireland Journal. Regular rubrics are next to the reports u. a. "Music from Ireland" and "Counter Images". A calendar with the title "dialann" provides information about concerts and festivals in the folk field that are taking place in Germany . Since 2008 the publisher has also offered an online appointment portal on which musicians and organizers can enter their concert dates themselves.
