Ralph Eggleston
Ralph Eggleston (born October 18, 1965 in Baton Rouge ) is an American animator , art director and production designer . In 2002 he won an Oscar for his animated short film Der Vogelschreck .
Life
Eggleston started at Kroyer Films and worked on various projects. In 1990 he was responsible for the storyboard of the episode The Clown with the Biedermask of the animated series The Simpsons .
In 1992 Eggleston moved to Pixar Animation Studios to initially work as art director on the film Toy Story . For his work he was awarded the Annie Award in the Best Art Direction category. In the following years he worked as an art director and production designer on numerous successful Pixar films.
His 2000 film Der Vogelschreck , which he directed, won an award in the Best Animated Short Film category at the 2002 Academy Awards .
